Voice Commands

Talk to Nova hands-free. Turn on voice, use the wake word, and speak requests the same way you’d type them.

Turn on voice

Voice is off by default. Enable it in Settings → Voice, and grant microphone access when Windows asks. Listening for the wake word happens on your device.

Your microphone, your call

Nova only listens after you enable voice, and you can switch the microphone off at any time. Everything else works without it.

Use the wake word

Say “Hey Nova”, then your request. A few examples:

  • “Hey Nova, what’s next on my calendar?”
  • “Hey Nova, summarize the open document.”
  • “Hey Nova, take a note: ship the beta Thursday.”
  • “Hey Nova, turn the volume down, I’m on a call.”

Prefer a shortcut?

You don’t need voice at all. Press Ctrl K to open the command box and type the same requests.

Natural phrasing works

Speak the way you’d ask a colleague. Nova figures out the steps - you don’t need special syntax.
