Verify

Know your download is genuine

Every Nova release includes a SHA-256 fingerprint. If you want to be certain the file wasn't tampered with, check the checksum before running it.

SHA-256 checksum

A checksum is a unique fingerprint of the file. If the value you calculate matches the one below, your download is exactly what we published.

Windows may show a SmartScreen prompt because Nova is newly released and still building publisher reputation. Verify the checksum first; if it does not match, don't proceed.

Troubleshooting

If something gets in the way

If SmartScreen appears, verify that the file came from novaosconsulting.com and compare the SHA-256 checksum shown on this page. Code signing is planned for upcoming releases so Windows can display publisher identity more clearly.

Some antivirus tools quarantine unfamiliar apps. Verify the SHA-256 checksum above, then add an exception or restore the file only if the checksum matches.

Sign-in is optional. If it fails, check your connection, or continue without an account. Nova's local features work fully offline, and you can sign in later from Settings.

Grant microphone access under Windows Settings → Privacy → Microphone, and allow Nova. Voice is off by default; everything else works without it.

Updates resume automatically. If one fails, restart Nova, or download and run the latest setup app again - your settings are preserved.

FAQ

Before you install

Yes. Desktop actions, file handling, app launching and local workspace tasks can run without an internet connection. Cloud reasoning, live web search, image generation and subscription checks need internet access because those features depend on Nova Cloud services.

Nova updates are published through the official Nova OS Consulting download flow. The installer downloads the current release package, verifies its SHA-256 checksum, and installs the verified files into Program Files. Code signing is planned for upcoming Windows releases, so until then the checksum is the public integrity proof.

Not in the current stable public release. Nova is being stabilized first on Windows 10 and Windows 11 because that is where desktop automation, installers and SmartScreen behavior need the most testing. macOS and Linux builds remain roadmap items after the Windows release is consistently reliable.

Yes. Nova installs like a standard Windows application, appears in Windows Apps & Features, and includes a normal uninstaller. Removing Nova deletes the installed app files, while user documents and files that you created outside Nova remain under your control.

Nova keeps local work local unless you choose a feature that needs cloud processing. Files, browser actions and microphone access remain permissioned actions, and the app should ask before using sensitive tools. For cloud features, only the information required to complete the requested task is sent for processing.

No. Local desktop features can be used without signing in. An account is required for Nova Cloud, subscription activation, billing state, usage limits, license management and preference sync across devices.
