We designed Nova to be local-first: wherever possible, actions run on your device, and information leaves your computer only when a feature you request requires it.
Information We Collect
Account information
An account is optional for initial use. When you create one to activate a subscription, manage a license or renew, we collect your email address and authentication details needed to secure the account.
Subscription information
To operate our paid subscription, we and our payment processors handle your plan, billing status and transaction records. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Device information
To license and run the Software, we may process basic device identifiers, operating-system version and hardware capability information used for activation and compatibility.
Usage information
We may collect basic usage analytics about which features are used and how often, in aggregate, to understand what to improve.
Diagnostic data
Nova may collect crash reports and diagnostic information when something goes wrong. This is used only to improve reliability, security and performance.
AI requests
When you use a cloud-powered AI feature, the content required to fulfil that request is sent to the relevant provider to generate a result. Routine desktop actions that run locally do not send this data.
Cookies (website)
Our website may use essential cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences such as your theme. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to provide and secure the Software, activate and manage subscriptions, deliver requested features, respond to support requests, and improve reliability, security and performance. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-Party Services
Nova AI Desktop Assistant may use third-party artificial intelligence services and cloud providers to deliver certain features. These providers may change over time. Some Nova features operate locally on your device; cloud-powered AI features require an internet connection. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the requested feature, under their own terms and security practices. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers who receive the information necessary to complete a transaction.
Data Retention
We retain account and subscription information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Software and meet legal obligations. Diagnostic and usage data is retained only as long as useful for the purposes described, then deleted or anonymised.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit for cloud requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit what is collected in the first place.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at joydeep@novaosconsulting.com. You can also uninstall the Software at any time, which removes its local data from your device.
Children's Privacy
The Software and website are not directed to children under the age required by local law to consent to processing, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
